Meet Dr. Flax
Hi, I’m Dr. Willa Flax. I’m a licensed professional counselor with over a decade of experience. I help clients move through life transitions, relationship stress, and the pressure to always “get it right.”
Many of the people I work with are driven and reflective. They’re used to handling the responsibilities, the logistics, and the emotions — often without much space to pause and check in with themselves. Therapy offers that space: a place to think things through, notice what you need, and move forward with more intention.
Together, we’ll clarify what’s working, what’s not, and where you want to go next. My approach is warm, collaborative, and structured. I draw from person-centered and strength-based work, including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), compassion-focused therapy, positive psychology, and relational approaches. These tools help us recognize patterns, build insight, and support meaningful change — at a pace that fits you.
I specialize in working with young adults, professionals, and parents. Many of my clients are adjusting to new roles, navigating burnout, or balancing who they’ve been with who they want to become. Therapy can help you feel clearer, more connected, and more aligned with the version of yourself you want to grow into.
I hold a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Southern California and have supported clients in settings ranging from schools to executive spaces. This breadth of experience gives me perspective on how people grow through challenge, connection, and personal development.
